Washington, D.C. — In response to the Supreme Court eliminating so-called “Affirmative Action” race-based admissions preferences, Congressman Jeff Duncan (R-SC) released the following statement on the Supreme Court’s Students for Fair Admissions Inc. v. President and Fellows of Harvard College decision:

“Thanks to the Supreme Court’s excellent ruling, students will now be empowered to pursue academic excellence regardless of their ethnicity. I applaud the Supreme Court for doing away with racial preferences in academic admissions. Racism is wrong in every form. Instituting preferences to disadvantage people of any ethnicity by denying them access to educational opportunities is antithetical to our Constitutional freedoms. I’m glad the Court saw through the façade of the racist Left and eliminated these bigoted policies.”
